FLAT ROOF or BUILT-UP ROOF SURVEYS

Conditions are everything when performing a flat roof moisture survey!  Like everything we do with infrared imaging, a temperature difference  is essential.  Whether we wait for nature to take care of it through heating and cooling by the sun, or we take advantage of the heat generated by the building, the results are ultimately the same... a well defined outline showing the likely wet insulation.

Altheus Infrared has the experience to perform the most complete and accurate survey of the insulation in your roof.  Our experience performing walk-on surveys includes buildings up to 2 million square feet!

Built-up aggregate, rubber membranes, roll roofing - most flat or low slope roofs can be surveyed - just ask us how!

Not sure your roof is a candidate for an infrared survey?  Give us a call.  We have the experience and the equipment to do the job right the first time.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM AN INFRARED ROOF SURVEY FROM ALTHEUS INFRARED?

  1. Accurate thermal still photos of each area
  2. Live video of the entire roof system upon request
  3. Computer generated report provided

Infrared surveys from a distance give the best overview of the size of any anomalies - typically in one wide angle photo.

SURVEY FROM BELOW:

  1. Accurate thermal still photos of each area
  2. Live video of the entire roof
  3. Visual photos document the area in question
  4. Measurments are taken to determine the size of the anomalies
  5. CAD drawings generated of the roof and location of the anomalies
  6. Computer generated photographic report provided

Not every roof is a candidtate for this method.  However, if your roof has the right stuff - the results are amazing!  Just look at these photos!

Walk-on Survey - built-up roll roofing

WALK-ON SURVEY:

  1. Accurate thermal still photos of each area
  2. Moisture meter used to "verify" the findings on the spot (non-destructive - based on measuring capacitance)
  3. Live video of the entire roof
  4. EZ-Marker Paint outline of the anomalies
  5. Anomalies are numbered directly on the roof for easy reference
  6. Visual photos are taken during daylight hours
  7. Measurments are taken to determine the size of the anomalies
  8. CAD drawings generated showing the location of the anomalies

Historically, the most common roof survey method; walk-on surveys allow for the most accurate repairs since the anomaly is outlined directly on the roof.  This allows for all the wet materials to be cut out and replaced by your roofer.

Moisture meter verification makes this the most accurate method.
